Clinical Massage for injuries & chronic conditions

Initial Treatment & Treatment 70mins = £70

A client history is taken on arrival, followed by as assessment of the condition/ injury this may involve appropriate muscle tests. This is then followed by a standard treatment. Please expect to be involved in the treatment and feed back is often needed to tailor your treatment.

Standard Treatment 60mins = £65

This treatment is tailored to the client and is used to release tight muscles/tension and fascia. It can involves myofascial release, trigger point therapy and various friction techniques. During the treatment, if appropriate you may be asked to actively engage muscles and have muscles passively stretched. Gentle mobilisation of joints may also be of benefit. The treatment aims to improve circulation which aims the recovery process.

Heat or ice therapy may also be offered if appropriate.

If strengthening or stretching exercises are recommended these will be offered and demonstrated during the treatment.

A course of treatment is often recommended as although usually clients see results after just one treatment, it often takes between 3-6 to release below the superficial layers and therefore achieve long term results. As part of the treatment you will be offered an exercise plan which can be emailed to you with videos that you can follow. 


 

Sports Massage - Pre & Post events 1hr = £65

This treatment can be used to help clients improve the health of their muscles by being applied pre or post events. It is also used to help muscles repair after an injury and improve their ROM.

Pre- event massage

  • to help prevent injury before an event by promoting the blood flow to the muscles.

  • To improve joint mobility

  • Improve mental health/ focus

  • Stretches tissues

Post- event massage

  • Improves circulation

  • Reduces muscle tension

  • Speeds up recovery time, helps to remove lactic acid.

Sports massage utilises more dynamic techniques such as stretching, MET and PNF as well as active release techniques.

There is less of a focus on specificity and trigger points (unless very active and currently painful) and more of a focus on general long strokes to broadly free up any fibrous tension, increase tension whilst simultaneous causing minimal pain.

Sports Massage is tailored around the client and around their present training program.

Clinical Massage Therapy Explained

Sports and Clinical techniques are uses to release tight muscles and allow a better blood flow to injured tissues. When muscles and tendons become damage, impaired, knotted, tense or immobile, clinical massage provides an effective healing treatment.
